Why do they charge a .50 "Ante" with every hand dealt at the Blackjack table, and where does this money go?
Is it an automatic tip, or some kind of state regulation?
The dealers and pit bosses were a little evasive, but did say it was "some sort of state regulation."
This is speculation, but I view Indian Casinos as having easier payouts, which means Indian Casinos might not earn as big of profits as non Indian Casinos.
Maybe the ante helps in recouping expenses?
i have never heard of an "ante" in Blackjack
Indian Casinos are run a bit different though
They charge it because they can.
Quite simply the Indian casinos usually run a higher profit margin then regular casinos because they typically shade the rules for all the games and the slots in their favor.
Since most of them are destination sites, places you have to drive to from a distance, and have no competition in the immediate area, they can set their own margins. And usually the house edge on the games is set much higher.
And they do things like change an "ante" to play blackjack.
As far as I know Oklahoma is the only state that has this "vig" on blackjack. it is not really known why. Sorry couldn't really answer question.
because 8 games will get the dealer a gallon of gas.
Just got back from a gambling run to an Indian Casino in Oklahoma.?
Once you have selected a blackjack table to play іn, you need to exchange your cash money for before a live audience chips which are color coded according to what value they hаνе. (Whеn you have won, you can exchange the chips you won for actual money afterwards.) Try to just exchange the amount of money you feel comfortable betting with (whісh is also useful for staying within a comfortable budget – so that you have enough money to hail a taxi cab home with if you should happen to be on a losing streak this night.)
Remember that no dealer in a legitimate casino is endorsed to accept cash money from you (οr any player for that matter.) Yου mау have to wait until the dealer ѕtаrtѕ shuffling the deck or decks to be used for play before you can join in a game, or wait until a seat at a crowded table becomes free. Sіnсе even the best and Ɩаrɡеѕt casinos get crowded on any given night, you mау have to arrive early to get a good seat at an apt table.
Sοmе casinos make you head for a counter where you can exchange your cash for chips (οr chips for cash.) Bυt at other casinos, the dealer at the blackjack table himself is permitted to exchange your cash for chips right thеrе. Bυt you are not permitted to give the cash outright to the dealer – ordinarily, you mυѕt place your cash on the felt surface of the table so the dealer will reach for it then count out your chips based on the equivalent value. Yου саnnοt get change for your cash, because the dealer will only drop in the cash money into a slot in the table itself. If you are betting $5 per bet, you mау find the bυу-іn to be at Ɩеаѕt $50 to $100 (οr the equivalent of multiples of 10 or 20 times what you bet.)
Yου mау eventually become familiar with how gambling chips are color coded, as you use them through time. Thе $1 chips mау еіthеr be pure white or silver, $5 chips are color red, $25 chips are colored green, and the $100 chips are colored black (аѕ is ordinarily practiced in US casinos.) If the casino still uses the $2.50 chip, it mау be colored pink. Thеrе could also be $500 chips which might be colored purple. Bе sure that you check your chips if you received the right color and value for the cash you submitted for exchange. If you have been winning a lot and have accumulated quite a lot of chips, qυеѕtіοn if the casino has a pouch or tray on which you can place your chips so that you can result іn them to the counter for exchange, or austerely qυеѕtіοn the dealer what casino policy is on claiming your winnings. Thе dealer mау want to get your smaller-denomination chips to exchange for Ɩаrɡеr value chips before you result іn them for exchange to the cashier dialogue box. it is unlikely that the dealer will be allowed to give you your winnings in cash at the table itself, for wellbeing reasons.

NOT suprising. You walk in the place a 3am, they have ONE 15 blackjack table open, and it’s full. The others are completely EMPTY. not sure who is making those decisions, but the results seem to speak for themselves …

Why not have have five dollar minimums on most tables. This fifteen dollar nonsense isn’t the way to go.The most important thing in casino table play is volume.I suspect that Moehegan doesn’t have full confidence in their dealers yet.once they get a full complement of quick and competent dealers they willsee an increase in profit.also pay these dealers minimum wage and not four dollars an hour. The tips are not that great and it isn’t 1980 anymore.

This casino’s ills will spread like cancer throughout the already sick community reducing all who patronize and are supported by it to a pool of puss. There is nothing good about this sort of venture. Please don’t talk about the jobs it brings. it brings jobs like garbage brings flies. can anything be more stupid than thinking one can get rich quickly? And even then, what would the ‘winners’ do with the loot? They would spend it of course. Is that the message one wants to send? Blow money and hope that you win more money only to lose what one had in the first place. Talk about community stupidity! And no outrage among the saner elements of the area? Obviously the nuts at LCCC who are offering mixology and gaming classes are trying to benefit in much the same way funeral directors benefit from selling insurance policies to the bereaved. What a sick, morbid place to live. What other models are being provided for those who seek an easier, softer way of life? Harry Lewis, Scottsdale

Watch your rate of play at the casinio. I was playing the other night with avg bets of $75.00-$100.00 per hand. when I asked what my rate of play was “Eric” the head pittboss said it was $25.00. Eric was not happy with me questioning him. He was rather rude to me. my point is pit bosses are not watching the players avg be and are not being comped accordingly. Get it right Mohegan Sun.

What ever happened to the reduction in property taxes because of this new “gambling revenue”? Millions of dollars have been collected by Luzerne County and property taxes are increasing. Where is the money being spent? It’s a pretty sad siuation when you loose your home because you can’t afford the taxes imposed by the government. when they can’t raise our tax millage they create new taxes. your income is eaten away like piranha fish on a feeding frenzy. I love PA but can’t afford to live her any longer.

Of course the take is the lowest in the state, the casino is located in the lowest per capita IQ area of the state. Gamblers here do not want to sit at a table (where personal interaction happens) and think about what they are doing. Gamblers here want to mindlessly push buttons for one penny at a time while slamming cheap liquor and cigarettes.

Harry for someone who is so down on NE PA you sure as hell spend to much of your time commenting on it..
If you want a simple blackjack system but with a professional level of playing, the red 7 card counting system is the one and only strategy to use! This system gives the player about 80% of the normal advanced blackjack systems without the need to increase one’s skill sets.
The rules of the red 7 system:
1) Aces are given the value of -1.
2) All cards of 2’s, 3’s, 4’s,5’s and 6’s are given a value of +1. This is due to the fact that when you see them on the blackjack table, it means there is less of them from the deck shoe and the advantage is in your favour.
3) All cards of red 7’s are given a value of +1. But for black 7’s they are given a value of 0. This is to create a critical imbalance to the game so that you do not need to add any more calculations on other variances in the game. This is the key to the simplicity and power of the red 7 system.
4) All cards of 8’s and 9’s are given a value of 0. So you can ignore these cards when you see them.
5) All cards of 10’s, J’s, Q’s and K’s are given the value of 0.
When you sit down at a table and start playing, use a count value of -2 and multiply by the deck number of let us say 3 decks, then the set count is -6.
When you do this, you easily know the advantage has come into your favour when the count is 0, and you can increase your bets accordingly without worrying what other factors might arise. Statistically, you have a 1% edge over the dealer but also remember that the dealer has a good chance of winning against you! do not over bet your limit!
A few notes when using this method:
- taking insurance when playing one or two deck games when your count is 0 or higher.
- Stand on 12 when dealer up card is 2 and stand on 15 when the dealer has 10 if your count is +2 or more.
- When your count is 0 or higher, stand on 16 when dealer has a 10 and on 12 when the dealer has a 3 up card.
Although this system is unbalanced, when you try to look at true card counting techniques, you have to second guess how many decks are still in the shoe and also try to round off deck estimation to achieve the true count. in the end, this imbalanced strategy releases the player from guessing or learning extra skills to do other work and only concentrate on the cards themselves.
But again, no matter what strategy you use, your self-control over your money matters is the ultimate blackjack tip and secret to winning this game all the time!
Red 7 Card Counting System – is it the Easiest Strategy to use?
Red 7 Card Counting System – Is it the Easiest Strategy to Use?
OK. Here's the story. Wanted to see if anyone has ever had this happen at Mohegan Sun, or any other casino, for that matter.
We went to Mohegan Sun today. I sat down at the blackjack table. they use 6 decks there. My first hand, I got a 2 and a 3. Then, another 2, another 2, yet another 2, then a 3. 6 cards total. I wasn't keeping a very hard count of the cards, but well enough to know that there were a lot, and I mean a lot, of low cards dealt to our table. Then, a little more than 60% through the shoe, I started upping my bets, since the probability of higher cards (dealer busting) was a lot greater. Dealer only busted twice, then stopped dealing with about 2 decks left, and re-shuffled. Then, almost the same thing on the next round. one girl was able to win big on a couple hands (275.00 on one, 300.00 on the next) while a couple people were down almost the entire time. Has anyone ever had this, where it's almost like there aren't many higher valued cards in the shoe? I mean, I know there are odds involved, but when you have 5 higher cards per suit, that's 20 cards per deck, which is 120 cards for 6 decks, and very minimal high cards dealt?
