Card counting in blackjack! Is it really that simple!?

So what is the downfall in card counting in blackjack? I mean it is like really really really easy to learn from what i seen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3HHVob7FiSc (that's how i learned) and it's legal? I mean if it is that easy then i would think everyone would do it but they don't! But i know there is a reason for it. so why don't everyone does this counting cards. I would think that if they just perform this simple little technique then everyone would know what left and win really big! So what really is the catch to it? Mathematical it make sense. Because based off the number system used when counting cards it will the higher or lower the number is it will give you a pretty good ratio on what's in the deck and what the next possible out come would be but still. I'm not trying to sound trite but what's major downfall in card counting?

First of all it is not that easy to do and it takes a lot of practice to get good at it. Technically it is not legal in the sense that a Casino will throw you out and ban you from the casino if you are a good/profitable counter. The Casino has every right to do so. you won't go to jail or anything so I guess it is technically legal – just frowned upon. The biggest misunderstanding is that people think it is a get rich quick scheme. The reality of it is that it only gives you a small edge over the house. Even the best card counters are going to have losing days. Not only do you need to be a good card counter you also need to be disciplined and have a plan and manage your funds properly. to be successful you need to be ble to count without the casino knowing you are doing so. and once you start winning they will watch you like a hawk. honestly, it is just not worth it for the average person to start counting. I just play for entertainment and use a basic strategy to "reduce" the houses edge. Here is the strategy I use for a multiple deck game:

Casinos are very good at spotting card counters, and will politely ask you to leave. Even though it's legal, the casino is private property and they have the right to exclude you from their property.

Not anymore. Casinos now replace the deck well before it's depleted so counting doesn't give you an advantage anymore. All the advantages with card counting comes towards the end of the deck.

It's true, card counting is easy to pick up and learn as long as you dedicate enough time to it but it really isn't worth it as they rarely offer a game that will give you enough of an edge to profit from. On the legal side, card counting is completely legal but the casino doesn't like you doing it so if they suspect you of counting they won't make your life easy. The one major downfall of card counting is the tiny percentage you will get over house and waiting to get the positive count, which could take a while. also, card counting is very boring. If you think that it is something you want to do though, I would suggest getting your hands on the Casino Verite software as it will help you train and I would also recommend using a simple count like Hi/Lo with the Illustrious 18 indices as there isn't a lot of maths involved so there is less chance of a mistake.

I'm looking for a Blackjack Analyzer Program?

First of all I should emphasize that I am not interested in counting cards, at least not yet.

I am looking for a program that will run millions of hands and I can develop my own basic strategy based off of these results. I have some questions as to the accuracy of some of the basic strategy charts. I am aware of websites where I can imput rules and they will produce a basic strategy chart. This is NOT what I am after.

Secondly I would like to enter a betting strategy. not based on the count of the cards, but if I win or lose a hand I would like to adjust my betting.

Thank you for your help.

Is there anyway to tell how many decks the dealer uses in blackjack?

You have to know how many decks there are in order to calculate the true count when counting cards. The dealer won't tell you. Why would he? If he did, the casino would lose money. So how would you find out?

Just look at it. Every time the dealer goes through the shoe, he shuffles (in full blackjack, they usually do it by hand one deck at a time) and lays out the decks in front of the players (and usually lets a player put the cut card in). It's pretty easy to tell the difference between 6 and 8 decks once you've seen it a few times before. If the shuffle by hand, which they should, you can also see how many Vegas shuffles they do. they almost always pull about one deck at a time.

to add to your difficulty counting, after every shuffle, the dealer "burns" one card that no one ever gets to see. not only that, if the table changes dealers in mid-shoe, the new dealer burns an additional card, again which no player gets to see. all this to throw off counters. And when they reach the yellow "cut card", usually only through 4 decks of the six, they re-shuffle.

On the contrary, Thom, you DO need to know how many decks there are. sure, you can get the running count when using the Hi-Lo system, but the true count is what matters. you divide the running count by the number of decks to get the true count.

Sorry, back to your question. Usually in Las Vegas is 6 decks, but it can change.

You don't need to know how many decks to count cards. you count the cards by calculating a plus or minus for the face cards to the lower value cards in the deck. This will give you a fairly accurate time of when the card you need is going to be dealt.
A good representation of this is in the movie "21". Watch and go from there. It's very fast paced and very hard if you're at a table with alot of players.

They will tell you if you ask nicely. If it's that many decks, counting them is a waste of time. I would not even consider playing against more than two decks. more than two is very hard to beat. The single deck games are usually no good either because they don't pay the full 3:2 for a blackjack.

Ask the dealer. they will tell you, especially if you put a tip down when you play your first hand.

Usually in a big shoe there are 6 decks, once in a while you will see 8.

Good luck!

Blackjack » Black-Jack Card Counting – Don’t Accept These 3 Misconceptions

Counting cards can put the odds in the favor of the blackjack gambler, but it has limitations and is just not the "holy grail" that quite a few pontoon players believe.

It is a belief that has seen several pontoon card counting myths emerge that cause quite a few players to lose. Here are several of the a lot more numerous ones.

Myth One: a Difficult system is going to be More Productive

A card counting system could be complex or it may be uncomplicated, it depends on the system.

The simple fact the technique is complex doesn’t guarantee it is going to be more productive than a straightforward one. In reality, you possibly can discover a basic card counting system that has much better outcomes than numerous of the much more complicated ones in just 5 minutes!

Actuality: There’s no parallel between complexity of card counting methods and profitability. it can be the logic that the method is based upon which is critical.

Myth two: Card Counting Can Foresee the Series of Cards

Card counting in twenty-one doesn’t allow players to "predict" the sequence of cards that come out of the deck.

In reality, it can be impossible to "detect" the series of the remaining cards. the variety of different sequences is huge and impossible to predict.

Counting cards as a result, will not enable a player to foresee with certainty what card are going to be dealt out of the deck next.

Reality: Counting cards just isn’t a predictive theory. it really is simply a probability theory that will put the odds in your favor over the long phrase. Short-term outcomes can of course vary dramatically.

Myth 3: you Don’t Require Significantly Money to Win

Once a gambler has learned the best way to count cards in blackjack and successfully learned tips on how to apply these expertise, they incredibly typically think invincible.

When betting at the table they feel that they won’t require very much money due to the abilities that they have learned.

The reality is, even though a gambler may well have a positive edge in a game that will not mean the player is guaranteed to make profits all the time.

Losing streaks occur for all prosperous players and you need an adequate bank roll to ride them.

Actuality: the point five % – one point five per cent expectation that you simply can achieve in black jack, (percentage of each bet you expect on average to win), just isn’t enough to obtain you a succeeding advantage consistently. In the short term, you may need to prepare for losing runs.

The Reality of Card Counting … a number of Tips to Win

If you have understood the above, you’ll see that card counting is not a predictive theory – it’s a probability theory.

Once you understand this, you’ll realize that it can give you an advantage in the longer expression, except in the shorter phrase, you possibly can, and will have losing streaks.

You also need to pick a program that you simply sense comfortable in using.

As we have said, you do not have to have a complex system – it is possible to learn a basic one in JUST 5 MINUTES!

How can I increase my odds of winning in Blackjack?

I know there are rules to be followed and the key is to be consistent on some of the rules. Any other tips and tactics that will increase my odds of winning beside staying when dealer has small card showing, doubling down on 11, split….etc???

Counting cards, but its against Casino rules. But its not against the law. they casino can kick you out and never admit you again but they can't prosecute you or take your winnings.

Use basic stragety and also realize that a lot of it is luck of the draw. you have to be lucky enough to get the good cards.

you can download Free Black jack strategy trainer and BlackJack consulter.

I recommend to play in Blackjack in Playtech casinos: http://www.mycasinoreviews.net/playtech-…

Some casinos gives good cashable bonuses.

Buy a book on card counting and basic strategy.

Basically if you learn basic strategy it will tell you when to hit, stand, double down, surrender etc based on your cards and the dealers card. Following that will improve your odds significantly.

Next you learn to count cards so you will know when the shoe is in your favor and when it favors the house. if you do this perfectly you can actually remove the house edge and even swing yourself an edge. The only problem with this is that it is very difficult to perfect and if you keep winning an the casino thinks you are a card counter, they will kick you out and even ban you from playing Blackjack.

counting cards can only increase your odds at winning.Contrary to popular belief counting does not tip the odds in the favour of the player it only reduces the advantage the casino has. the method of counting cards is simple but actually doing it takes a lot of practice and to not get caught takes even more practice.Don't quote me but from memory any card with a value from 10 through to ace is negative one.any card from 2 through to six is plus one.7,8,9 are neutral. basically when the count gets to a high negative number the rest of the deck is rich in smaller cards when the count is in the high positive then the deck is rich in picture cards.

I think the biggest mistake people make when it comes to basic strategy is not realizing that different rules for blackjack make for a slightly different basic strategy at each casino.

That's why there is so much disagreement about what to do with a certain hand. Many people will try and convice you that you should never double down with an a 8, or split 4 4, or hit 12 against a 3. These are all valid plays but depending on different circumstances, like how many times the casino allows you to split, or double after splitting or hit soft 17.

So be sure the basic strategy you are looking at coincides with the rules of the casino.

I think the best source is "Blackjack Bluebook" by Fred Renzey.

I also see people are telling you to "quit when your ahead by a certain amount or losing a certain amount. Well, this strategy also does you no good. as soon as you start playing again, you are just picking up where you left off. The score does not reset just because you decided to stop playing at a certain time.

Learn a system including a betting strategy and also learn all the rules, including surrender, etc. Know your game: rules vary greatly from table to table and casino to casino. your best advantage is a game with the fewest number of decks used. There are some single deck games in Vegas- used to be one at the Stratosphere, but the minimum wager was high. When you're losing and the dealer is winning, walk away, find another table, play another day. Winning streaks happen and don't happen. a dealer that is consistently pulling 21 on the draw or blackjack is going to break you fast. There are many great books on blackjack strategy. you can learn simple methods for counting cards so you can know when the odds are in your favor. Don't get caught you'll be banned from all casinos. this doesn't work with those automatic shufflers- which I just hate and won't play when they're in use. The shoe can be a problem too, because there are just so many buried cards. good Luck.

Two things. Learn basic strategy for proper play and take online casino free chip offers. if you use their money instead to play you stand a very good chance of coming out ahead. The worst thing you can do is break even if you lose their money back. you can read about these offers at http://www.ranked-online-casinos.com/no-…
